My suggestion: an RP set in a final fantasy style world, final fantasy monsters, but original storyline and characters (herp derp). If you're interested, post your character's bio here in this basic format:
Name: The name of the character plus titles.
Class: What class is your character? Note that not all races can use all classes. Descriptions later.
Race: Is your character a Hume, Nu Mou, Bangaa, Moogle, Viera, Siqq, or Valkyr? Descriptions later.
Sex: Male or female?
Age: A reasonable age.
Description: Give a physical description (facial features, hair, skin or eye color, height, weight, anything) of the character. Remember race when you write this!
Mentality: Description was physical, this is mental and emotional. Is this character quick to anger or calm? Are they gullible or clever? Give everything away here!
Background: Why is the character here? What's the backstory? Give some history and a story!
Races: In this world (as yet to be named, if you've got an idea, post it) there's a few races. Here's info on them:
Hume: like humans of our world, Humes are down-to-earth and relatively straightforward. While they can be underhanded, they can just as easily be pure. Humes are essentially the most balanced race. They are the most populous and control most of the world here.
Nu Mou: Nu Mou are a mystic race, short, slight, and almost sheeplike in the way they look. This makes them physically weak, but don't underestimate the Nu Mou: These woolly mountain creatures have massive psychic power. The Nu Mou also have special oils within their wool and on their skin, so they can neither shave nor bathe. They cannot stand water and to shave a Nu Mou is to cast him from society. They are the strongest magical race.
Bangaa: Lizardmen of the harsh deserts, these intimidating creatures are tough, scaly, and large. They are not stupid though; if anything, Bangaa are the most focused, and passionate of the races. Their physical strength gives them high endurance and strength, but low magical ability. They function better as magicians in hot climates than cold climates, where they more devious and primitive Bangaa wear the hides of their natural enemy, the Nu Mou.
Moogle: Moogles, being slight of stature and low in magical prowess, are the machinists of the world. Many ingenious devices around the world were invented and are still kept up by the intelligent Moogles. Since their power is different from most of the other races, Moogles have many exclusive classes. They are closely related to the Nu Mou, but their ability to fly from mountain predators with their batlike wings prevented them from growing large like their cousins, so they remain small, yet retain the heat-giving oily fur. Moogles also avoid water at all costs. They have small red pom poms on their heads, rabbitlike ears, and the odd habit of using the catch-all term "kupo" frequently.
Viera: Deep in the secluded forests and dark caves, the relatively cold Vieras live apart from other races. Men of the Vieras are never seen and it is even rumored that they require Hume men in order to reproduce. They are tall and lean with ears resembling those of a rabbit. Their equally rabbitlike noses have a little understood ability to speak with the soul of the world itself, making the Viera the most spiritual of all races. They are almost as balanced as the humes, yet lean slightly more towards magic than fighting.
Siqq: Siqq are corpulent, hairless creatures resembling pigs in form, yet are more closely related to frogs and toads. They are very strong physically and, despite their apparent fat, are quite fast. By far not the smartest of the races, Siqq are easily corrupted and tend to be lackeys and footmen of other races, used only for guarding and heavy lifting. Some intelligent Siqq, however, are masterful manipulators, adept hiders, and ruthless hunters. The barbarian tribes of Siqq deep within caves occasionally raid the surface for supplies and their favorite delicacy: the red pom poms of the Moogle.
Valkyr: Living to the far north and rarely visited by other races, the Valkyr send their women out at young ages to trade, grow, and ultimately decide their own fates. This odd race almost always keeps its men to the north and women are almost all you will see. They resemble sharp-featured, small Hume women except for their odd-colored eyes, strange-colored hair, and large, batlike wings. Generally strong warriors, Valkyr generally focus on the earth and its powers for magical power.
Classes: There are many classes for characters here, and more will become available after gaining enough abilities in your initial class. Here they are with their respective races:
Soldier: Soldiers are basic warriors, nonspecializing students. Some may posess high level skills, but usually Soldier is used as a starting point for gaining other classes. Only Humes can be Soldiers.
Warriors: Basically the Bangaa equivalent of Soldiers, Warriors can use broadswords unavailable to Hume soldiers with ease. Only Bangaa can be Warriors.
Fencers: With their quick footwork and quicker rapiers, fencers have a myriad variety of abilities for harming and weakening the enemy. Only Viera can be Fencers.
White Mage: White Mages are healers. They can remove various debuffs, heal, speed regeneration, or even stop death itself. Humes, Viera, and Nu Mou can be White Mages.
Black Mage: Black Mages use harmful magic to light fires, freeze enemies, or draw lightning. Nu Mou, Humes, and Moogles can be Black Mages.
Animist: Calling upon the beasts, Animists heal, harm, and cause chaos on the battlefield. Only Moogles can be Animists.
More later, night for now

Name: Leon the Swift
Class: Thief
Race: Hume
Sex: Male
Age: 23
Description: Hazel eyes, Slim figure, Medium length black hair, Six feet and one inch tall, Scar under right eye.
Background: A simple thief for hire. Considers himself a mercenary. He use to work for a whole guild of thieves, but was exiled after the guild discovered he was being paid to steal from the guild. He got the scar on his eye from narrowly escaping death from an arrow while escaping from the guild.

Oops, forgot, I need a character:
Name: Marko
Class: White Monk
Race: Bangaa
Sex: Male
Age: 28
Description: Typical orange scales, light monk armor (leather and chain), about 6'6" tall, muscular, one ear-flap replaced by metal.
Mentality: Wise, but not exceedingly smart, very strong-willed and moral, somewhat paranoid.
Background: Marko fell in love with the Chief's daughter, Polom, and was persistent at gaining her favor. After finally wooing her after many years, they went to bed together and were caught in the morning by the Chief. As punishment for being "taken" before her marriage, Polom was banished from the tribe and Marko lost one of his ear-flaps, being replaced with a metal spike. While Marko felt pain from this, the ultimate pain was losing Polom. Marko knew he was too weak to fight the Chief and his full authority, so he escaped under cover of a sandstorm for the Bangaa monastery to learn the ways of a monk, to find the soul of his dragon within. Marko returned to gain his revenge, yet was still easily beaten by the Chief. Marko then left to train far away from the desert, disgraced from his tribe until he finds his love once more and is strong enough to take down the unjust Chief.

I generally wait for a few people. Plus, I still don't have a world and I need to develop a possible scenario. I generally start with a main topic and work out ways to get there as crizazy as you want.

I find this a bit more organic, it gives us all a bit more freedom. Plus, I'm just lazy and I kinda want it unpolished, it's more fun for me to come up with it on the spot.
I have decided on a world: Spiral. This will be in the older Final Fantasy style, no excessive guns or future, it's medieval, magic, and malboros all the way! Maps soon, it's still a work in progress. The city you'll start in is New Trance, the capital of the small, neutral nation directly under the Great Spiral that gives the world its name. The Great Spiral arrived on a meteor, crushing the cities and continents of the world as it was, destroying most of the technological advances that had formerly allowed Mako energy to be harvested from the Lifestream. However, the Great Spiral brought problems of its own; after landing, the humans left from their cover to see a dark force seeping into the land. This "Dark Mako" fused with some of the spirits in the lifestream, altering souls; thus the races were born and the stuffed "moogles" given life. Since they lasted from the world before, they remember some of the technology, helping rebuild Spiral. The Dark Mako continued, though, raising horrible creatures unseen even by the ancient moogles.
Marko realized the power of the Dark Mako and wishes to climb the Great Spiral to gain the power to stop the Chief... or more.
BAM! Plot. If it wasn't obvious enough with the meteor and the Mako energy references, this takes place in an alternate timeline of FFVII where Sephiroth succeds in destroying the world as we knew it, yet died in the process. Lickily the characters from FFVII died too, so less emoness.
I SHALL BEGIN!

Marko hops of the caravan, giving the driver the rest of his gil and walks into the metropolis of New Trance, first finding an Inn, then posting a call-out in the pub for a group to go with him to brave the spiral.
"any friendss brave enough and tough enough, I'm looking for a party to climb the Great Sspiral. Come to the Burning Chocobo Inn and Assk for Marko." -Marko

Leon watched from a dark alley as a newcomer to the town arrived. *He looks wealthy* he thought to himself as he spotted a nobleman passing by. He smirked to himself and followed the man without being noticed. He waited until they both were in a fairly large crowd before he reached his hand to the man's pocket. He casually passed him by as he placed his hand further in and stole a small satchel from his pocket. He swiftly placed the satchel into his own pocket and casually made his way back to the alley he was in.
By the time he got back he heard the man scream "My money is missing! Thief! THIEEEF!" Leon loved the sound of commotion. He quickly emptied the satchel he swiped from the man into his own satchel. "1,500 Gil...Not too bad." He smiled to himself, put the empty satchel into his back pocket and silently walked to the Burning Chocobo and sat down at the bar. He looked at the bartender and placed three gil on the counter. "Juice, I don't care what kind." Leon looked around and at his fellow patrons in the inn, examining their "face value".
Just then a guard burst into the inn. "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!" The guard exclaimed. Leon swore under his breath. "Guess I was a little reckless today." He muttered as he put his hands up. The guard came by and grabbed him. "Nobody breaks the law on my watch! I'm confiscating your stolen goods...Now pay the fine! Or it's off to jail." The guard demanded. "I'd rather go to jail for a few days than part with what little I have good sir." The guard smacked him upside the head and dragged him out. "Easy on the hair." Leon said sarcastically.
(I'm assuming a stereotypical Inn and the fact that thieves look like normal people and don't have to wear those uniforms. )

I gave myself a typical thief intro...Besides, I'm not as big a FF fan as you so I'm not quite sure what I can get away with. THAT is why I gave myself a typical intro.

All right, all right, it's just that you've already got a ton of rogue/thief characters, I thought you might want a bit more variety. I dunno, I like to change my guys up. It's up to you I guess.

Well, I tend to play them differently. I can give myself a TON of variety with stealth. Like my thief here is sarcastic, kinda cocky and cynical. While in the Fallout one he's more serious, silent and negative. Some of my thieves kill people, some have professional pride and don't harm anyone. Some of my assassins are ruthless killers while some only kill certain types of targets and not whatever they're paid to kill.

No, if you lose, I might even have you die if we're out of phoenix down. And Captain, that's still just personality, when it gets down to it, they're still all the same. Now I ask you this: with the rest of the team relatively moral, are you sure you want a thief?

I don't play Thieves and Assassins because I want a walk in the park. Stealth can be challenging, and that's what I love.
So do I still wanna be a Thief, Typho?
YES!
