Mod rotation ideas!

Ok, I'm thinking that to maintain total fairness and give everyone a bit of experience having - or not having - power here, every so often I'll rotate who can modify the pages here. It'll always be a 50/50 split between the two mods in terms of what they can mess with.

Pretty much it'll be decided based on activity, so the more active you are here, the higher chance of being a mod next time around. It'll happen every two months, but it'll be staggered, so one guy out one month, the other guy out the next, etc. It might be longer or shorter for you based on what I think about how you did. If you want to dispute a shortening or lengthening of someone's term as a mod, tell me under Game Over. Continue? by starting a new thread.

Anyway, thoughts? Ideas? suggestions?

I like the idea (itl keep things fresh).
I only have one thing to add: Could we Pm you instead of putting it in a forum everyone can see?
(people will take offence to it and bring that out IRL.)

I kinda think two months (as a base number) is a little bit too long ....... could we make it like a month per switch?
On that note:
Just to see how this would work out, could we give each person a one week shift (preferably after Christmas) and just see what they do with it.
Then , based on how that goes , we could decide from there.
I do understand that one week really isnt enough time to do much of anything , Im just curious as to how itl work in practice and how people will use their power.

Yeah, that's good. I think I'll stick with the staggered shifts again, though, you know, one out every 2 weeks, then they're out a month later.

We would have 2 mods working the site at a time (instead of the usual 3 )in 2 month periods apiece. We would start with mods A and B. (for example)
A is a mod for one month, then B becomes a mod (in addition to A).
One month later A switches out with C because A has been a mod for 2 months.
B will remain a mod because he hasn't been a Mod for two months yet (only one).
That means that one month in C's term B will be switched out (one previous month during Mod A and one month with Mod C) with mod A.
One month later , C switches with B .
Another month after that,A switches with C , and so on and so forth.

Is that about right?

About, but I was thinking--not out of arrogance, but out of guidance/control of the process--I would stay in. I mean, without that, who would supervise the switches and y'know, moderate the moderators?

So for this rotation to work , do you want to add VideoG2 as a mod , or just have the 2 of us (Capn and I) switch out?

And at a purely practical level , who would actually make the switch if we didnt have a permant Admin?
